Job Overview

The role of the Head of Business Development is to drive business growth and generate revenue for SOI Solutions. A successful candidate must be able to generate, develop, and pursue leads through the sales cycle. The role is the primary “go-to-market” leader for the company, including generating new sales ideas, strategies, and pitches.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Build and develop a network of contacts to attract new clients.
  • Research new market opportunities and prospective accounts within the target market.
  • Contribute to setting goals for business and revenue growth and developing strategies to meet those goals.
  • Plan and implement new target market initiatives.
  • Develop, nurture, and manage business partner relationships.
  • Develop quotes and proposals for prospective customers.
  • Accurately forecast sales projections and revenue.
  • Attending conferences and industry events for lead generation and marketing company capabilities.
  • Be accountable for effectively managing and representing an overall sales pipeline at all stages within the company’s sales cycle: early stage, developing business, committed business, and closing business.
  • Understand and manage the procurement process to ensure proper closure of business.
  • Develop, manage, and administer training and/or certification programs for new employees when appropriate.
  • Develop an effective sales understanding of company products and services, business position, and market conditions to keep the company competitive.
  • Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers, set achievable expectations, and ensure proper recording and closure of all issues with customers.
  • Work collaboratively and proactively with the SOI Solutions’ leadership team.

Skills and Experience

You’ll need to meet these requirements:

  • 8+ years of business development work history that shows increased responsibility and progression.
  • Experienced with data management observability platforms.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and time management skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good overall business acumen.
  • Experienced having worked in remote environments.
  • Self-starter motivation.
  • Familiarity with Cribl, Splunk, and Crowdstrike software.
  • Familiarity with the data analytics market to include SIEM and Observability
  • Contribute positivity and proactively within a start-up, entrepreneurial company in support of its overall mission.
  • The ability to effectively communicate complex data management solutions to enterprise customers at all levels of seniority within the target organization.

Location

This job can be performed remotely from anywhere in the United States. Occasional travel may be required (less than 20%).
