Technology Engineer II – Cribl

Job Overview

The Technology Engineer provides technical services to customers that can be purchased through a defined catalog. This is a highly technical and customer-facing role. Successful candidates will have a background in collecting and interpreting customer requirements, developing solutions, and implementing solutions. Requirements are collected via email, teleconference or a customer-facing portal. SOI Solutions strives to be highly transparent to our customers. You will be responsible for tracking your activities via a ticketing system to deliver a high level of service to customers.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Employ deep domain expertise to implement SOI Solutions’ subscription-based services and professional services.
  • Interact with customers to gather requirements, develop use cases, and implement solutions using the Cribl product suite.
  • Research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and identify solutions to resolve customer issues.
  • Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, trend analysis and self-healing systems.
  • Collaborate with Product and Support teams to plan and deploy new services.
  • Develop a deep technical understanding of SOI Solutions’ managed applications, subscription-based and professional services offerings.
  • Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers, set achievable expectations, and ensure proper recording and closure of all tickets.

Skills and Experience

You’ll need to meet these requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field, or 5-6 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Cribl Stream and Cribl Edge.
  • Technical certifications in Cribl, Splunk, CrowdStrike, or various Cloud Service Providers.
  • Experience with Observability principles.
  • Experience with TLS and secure networking practices.
  • A professional services background with demonstrable experience.
  • A strong understanding of various network architectures.
  • A technical writing acumen to document run books and other artifacts.
  • Experience working in remote environments.
  • A self-starter and strong customer relationship mindset.
  • Have worked in a ticket-driven environment and capable of providing timely updates.
Any of the following is a plus:
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud Service Providers (especially AWS)
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerization technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) like Terraform, code versioning (git), and/or DevOps principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Splunk, Elastic, Syslog, CrowdStrike, or Microsoft Sentinel.

Location

This job can be performed remotely from anywhere in the United States. Occasional travel may be required (less than 20%).
